Rates, Payments & Policies
Service Fees
My standard fee is $150 for individual sessions and $165 for couples sessions. I currently offer a few limited spots at a reduced rate of $130 for clients beginning with me during the early stages of my practice. If you start at this rate, I will honor it for the duration of our work together.Early Practice Rates:

We offer superbills for clients wishing to seek out-of-network reimbursement. For those needing support through this process, Thrizer is a platform that submits claims for you so you don’t have to. Estefania Ramirez-Romo, LCSW, PPSC
Estefania (Nia) Ramirez-Romo, LCSW, PPSC is a Latina and Catholic Licensed Clinical Social Worker born and raised in San Jose, California. She brings over eight years of clinical experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout the Bay Area.Nia earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from San José State University and holds a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) with a specialization in school-based mental health. Her early work in K–12 settings helped her understand the emotional toll academic pressures, identity exploration, and family dynamics can take—insights she now brings to her work with college students and young adults.As a bilingual therapist fluent in English and Spanish, Nia is passionate about helping clients navigate life transitions, identity, anxiety, faith, and relationships. As a mother herself, she has a deep personal understanding of the emotional shifts that come with pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting. She offers a supportive space for women navigating motherhood—whether it’s the desire to become a mother, the challenges of early parenthood, or the grief of unmet expectations.Nia also has experience working in substance use recovery programs, particularly supporting men navigating addiction and rebuilding their sense of purpose, identity, and connection.Her approach is rooted in cultural humility, compassion, and—when desired by the client—a deep respect for Christian values and faith-integrated care.Nia draws from a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Motivational Interviewing—always tailoring her work to meet the unique needs of each client.

If you’re not sure whether your schedule fits, feel free to reach out—I’ll do my best to accommodate when possible!What is a superbill?A superbill is a receipt that includes the necessary information (your diagnosis code, session date, fee, provider info) for your insurance company to process a claim for potential reimbursement. Thrizer is a service that can streamline this process for you! Ask your provider to get more information.Do I have to use it?No. Using a superbill is completely optional. Some clients prefer to keep their therapy private and not submit anything to insurance.How does Thrizer Work?• Pay full session fee or copay fee depending on your deductible

Each insurance plan is different, so it’s best to call and ask directly about your coverage, such as, copay fees and number of session covered by insurance.Do you offer a sliding scale?Yes. We believe therapy should be accessible when possible. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for clients experiencing financial hardship.What ages do you work with?We currently work with adults aged 18 and older who are based in California. If you’re seeking therapy for a minor, I’m happy to provide referrals to trusted colleagues who specialize in working with younger clients.Do I have to integrate faith into therapy?No. Faith integration is completely optional. Therapy at Virtue Therapy is always personalized and respectful of your beliefs.Do you work with all clients?
While we work with a wide range of individuals and couples, there are some areas that are outside the scope of our practice. We do not currently provide therapy for:• Active suicidal ideation
• Severe substance use or addiction
• Eating disorders
• Psychotic disorders (such as schizophrenia)
• Court-ordered or mandated therapyWhat if I am in crisis?
Virtue Therapy does not provide emergency or crisis services. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), dial 911, or visit your nearest emergency room. You deserve immediate support.
